History of Subud Vol 1
This first instalment of Harlinah Longcroft's official history of Subud
is
set almost entirely in Java, ending in May 1957 as Bapak waits at the
airport in Jakarta to board the plane for England. In outline, the story
of
Bapak's early life and the coming of the latihan is already well known
from
his Autobiography and references in the published talks. By drawing on a
far wider range of sources, including interviews with contemporaries,
and
supplying an historical and geographical context, Harlinah succeeds in
liberating our view of Bapak and the earliest phase of Subud from the
crystallisation’s of later years. |

Saving Grace has been on the amazon. co.uk list since 1999, receiving a steady stream of orders from UK bookshops. It also receives frequent “chunky” orders from Subud bodies such as SPI and Subud USA.
The book is fast approaching its third UK reprint and is currently being translated into Russian by the Subud Russia translation unit.
Saving Grace is an account of one man's 30 year experience of Subud, a little known and rarely publicised modern spiritual phenomenon.
The transformative process of Subud, based on surrender to the power of God through a spiritual exercise called latihan (Indonesian for training) is explained in a readable, conversational style using personal anecdotes and extracts from talks by the movement's founder.
This book is aimed at anybody who feels human existence must be more than a molecular accident; anyone who feels that there must be other dimensions to life beyond merely surviving, doing your best and dying. It's for anyone who feels an emptiness inside; anyone who has ever been terrified at the prospect of death with nothing beyond and anyone who has ever been terrified of the prospect of death if there is something beyond. It's for anyone that feels a deep seated fear that life is passing them by and it's for anyone that cannot make sense of suffering, be that on a personal or on a wordly scale. It's also aimed at any seeker who has so far failed to find what he or she has been searching for and anyone open minded enough to try things out for themselves before committing them to the wastebin of prejudice.

Are you feeling exhausted, hollow, cynical, trapped, angry or just not there? Working harder but getting less done? Ill too often or for too long? These are some of the classic warning signs of burnout. More importantly, they hold out the promise of a whole new life. In this ground-breaking book, Dr Dina Glouberman, visionary founder of the Skyros holishc health holidays, demonstrates that burnout happens at work or at home when the meaning goes out of what we are doing but we have too much invested to stop and take notice. Our soul is whispering but we are not listening. If we soldier on, we risk losing everything - including our health, our happiness, even our lives. But if we listen to the message and take action, we can turn ourselves around.

In this book Roland casts his net wide and pulls in many stars. He dares to ask "big questions" of life, concerns that we ponder at 3am, in times of turbulent transition or quiet repose, questions like What kind of life is worth living? Why am I suffering, and what should I do '? How do I know what is the right decision? In Seeking Wholeness, Roland gives us a guide for living. He challenges us to see in fresh ways. We might call it process psychology, a set of tools for approaching experience as a moving, ever changing flow, a movie rather than a series of still photos.
