Toward The Absolute Peace through Bapak's SUSILA BUDHI DHARMA

- A Proposal to the United Nations University's Tokyo '99 International Conference on Consciousness, by Prof. Dr. Hisatoki Komaki

Dr. Komaki is the Founder and Honorary President of the International Earth Environment University, Japan. He has been seeking the way to attain The Absolute Peace for many years. Inspired by the deep wisdom in Dr.H. Ochiai's philosophy, he came to understand that SUBUD is the only way for his purpose. He joined in October 1998. Newly opened members often iterate an "only way" attitude towards Subud as they discover for themselves what it is about. Later the attitude tends to change as a person realises that maybe God gives everybody an opening on how he can be found and that each way has its own uniqueness and value. The latihan of Subud then often becomes a supplement to a persons existing values and encourages growth from there. However the article is still extremely useful as it shows an academic response to the first receivings of the latihan.

At the United Nations University's Tokyo'99 International Conference on Consciousness, I will deliver a paper entitled "Toward The Absolute Peace through Fundamental Studies on Consciousness", in which I will suggest that only through Bapak's SUSILA BUDHI DHARMA, would world peace be attained.

More than ten years ago, Prof. Dr. Masayoshi Ihara , of the Kyoto University of Technology, kindly gave me booklets on Subud, but, at that time, I could not understand the difference between SUBUD and other methods of spiritual training.

Nine years ago, with the late Prof. Dr. Linus Carl Pauling (winner of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry and of the Nobel Prize for Peace, 1901-1994), and with more than 300 Nobel Prize winners, University Presidents and Professors, I founded the International Earth Environment University (IEEU) and the International Earth Environment University Roundtable (IEER) to attain all the goals of the "FOUR STEPS TO ABSOLUTE PEACE" Project.

The "Four Steps to Absolute Peace" Project may be summarised as follows:

• 1. Global Disarmament ( by 2010)
  
• 2. Total abolition of meat-diet, animal experimentation and insecticides (by 2050)
  
• 3. Abolition of mutual killing of wild animals, fishes and insects through their population control (by 2090)
  
• 4. Complete, Smooth and Rapid Salvation (smooth and endless spiritual growth) of all spiritual beings of the whole Universe, of Endless Space, Endless Time, and of Endless Dimensions.

In my opinion, by the progress of natural and social sciences, Goals 1, 2 and 3 would be attained. Furthermore, the levelling-up of all mankind’s ethical standards, through the levelling-up of all mankind’s consciousness, would accelerate to attain Goals 1, 2 and 3.

Many eminent workers, I hope, would deliver valuable and epoch-making papers to attain Goals 1, 2 and 3 for the United Nations University International Symposium (Toward a Science of Consciousness), held on May 25th-28th 1999, at the United Nations University, Tokyo.

So, I would like to discuss Goal 4:

Complete, Smooth and Rapid Salvation (smooth and endless spiritual growth) of spiritual beings in the Whole Universe, of endless space, endless time, and of endless dimensions. . In order to attain all the goals of " Four Steps to Absolute Peace", especially Goal 4, we must, first of all, achieve the answer to "What are we?" "What is mind?" "What is life?" "What is reality?": Four main themes of the United Nations University's Tokyo'99 International Conference on Consciousness.

This is the very reason why I conclude that only through Bapak's SUSILA BUDHI DHARMA (SUBUD) would the goal of absolute peace - not only the peace of the world but also the smooth and rapid Complete Salvation of all beings of the Whole Universe, of endless dimensions - be attained.

On October 26th 1998, I was so fortunate as to receive the Opening of SUBUD (On November 23rd, my wife Mrs.. Yoriko Komaki was also so fortunate as to receive the Opening of Subud.)

My wife and I express our heartfelt thanks to God (the Ultimate Cause of the Whole Universe, of all dimensions - Allah in Islam; Jehovah in Hebrew; Myoho-Renge in Japanese; the One Who cannot be denied), to Bapak, to Dr. M. Ihara, and Mrs.Sayuri Ihara, and the many spiritual helpers and members of SUBUD all over the world.

On September 19th - 20th 1998, Dr. Hanyu Ochiai’s philosophical lecture was held at the Kyoto University Hall. Dr.Ochiai suggested the limited usefulness of "self", and the mechanism of the formation of "self": the temporary master of brain. (The human brain, in its birth, has no "self"; "self" is made by words; "self" is essential to keep the growth of brain; but, after the complete growth of brain, "self" ends its role.)

According to Dr. Ochiai, in the very near future, the synchronised and invisible network of many many brains, naturally and synchronistically graduating from their individual "self", would be the New Nucleus of Cosmic Life; this would solve all problems including that of the absolute peace, of all dimensions.

Dr. Ochiai is not a member of SUBUD. But, it was after hearing Dr. Ochiai’s philosophical lecture at Kyoto University Hall, that my wife and I decided to receive the Opening of Subud.

Only through Latihan (the synchronised spiritual training of SUBUD), would mankind graduate from each "self", and, under its high influence, would the absolute peace of the Whole Universe, of all dimensions, be attained.
