5. Eddie talks briefly to Patricia in South Africa

Another experience which was difficult for me to forget was when we went over to England to Kenfield to have a conference of the kejiwaan counsellors in Bapak's presence. Bapak actually joined in the Latihan with us and mingled with us in our Latihan. When that Latihan finished, I had tears pouring down my cheeks.
When the others all went into the lounge for tea, it must have been at least three quarters of an hour, I stayed in that Latihan room crying my heart out, and nobody could make me realise what it was all about. This, I believe, is quite a usual thing in the presence of Bapak. It was such a wonderful experience. I felt good and cleansed.
Being as we are, isolated members here in Port Edward, with our only other Subud member, I find that my Latihan often have to be solo. At times, I become distracted and doubting "Should one not have this Latihan" or "Should one not surrender?" But then I realise, "Who are you kidding? You're only kidding yourself."
I now strongly feel that the reason we are put on this earth
is not to attempt to take whatever one can out of this world.
I think one should make a sincere attempt to put something good
into the world.
